Micromax Canvas Blaze MT500 hard reset recovery menu

You can try to enter the Android Recovery menu on your micromax device, but please note that not all firmware supports it, and if  there is no option to enter this recovery mode to “wipe data” or  “Factory reset” your device, you won’t be able to enter this menu. If these options will be available in a future ROM / Firmware release than you should try the following method to enter the menu.

1. Fully charge the phone.
2. Turn on the device by pressing the volume UP and power key together. Press power for a few second release it but keep pressing the Volume key a little bit longer.
3. When Micromax and Android logo shows up release the Vol key.
4. Wait until you see an Android figure lying on its back.
5. If recovery menu appears follow 6. When you see “No command” with the Andorid robot press POWER shortly (or +Vol up) to display the recovery menu.
6. When Android system recovery menu appears… go and
7. Highlight wipe data/Factory reset using volume down key.
8. Confirm with power or Cancel using BACK key.
9. Select with Vol – Yes — delete all user data and confirm using power key.
10. After hard reset is done, highlight reboot system now and confirm your selection.

Note! All data will be deleted! Be sure to backup your user data before doing a hard reset.

If the first method not working try the following which is very similar, but the device displays a Factory Test boot selection menu

Note: if your firmware displays a menu with Recovery, Bootloader etc. options, select Recovery that.

How to update firmware on Micromax Canvas Blaze MT500?

You can update, install or reinstall the original stock or custom firmware on your device with two different methods.

One is SD card update and the other is Smartphone SP Flash tool from PC.

If your phone supports SD card update then you can move the custom firmware e.g. update.zip file to your SD card’s root directory. Insert the card in your device and put it in Download mode and the phone will update itself. To put your phone or tablet in Download mode turn off the device, pull out battery if it has a removable battery and reinsert it. Press the Volume UP or Volume DOWN and he POWER at the same time for a few seconds. If you have the right firmware the flashing procedure will start automatically and usually will take only a few minutes.

But what if you can’t update Micromax Canvas Blaze MT500 with SD card? 

Let’s start with Smart Phone Flash Tool

 Update firmware on Micromax Canvas Blaze MT500 SP Flash tool v5

1. Download Android generic driver and install it on your PC computer if you haven’t done it already. Use Windows device manager to check your device. Please search for the latest “MTK android driver” in Google for it
2. Download SP Flashtool from here (Find the latest SP flash tool) and extract it to a folder.
3. Download your stock or custom ROM for your device and extract it to a folder on your PC. You can find Micromax Canvas Blaze MT500 ROM firmware at the official website of your device or you can also find some cooked custom ROMs throughout the internet.
4. Power off your phone and pull out the battery. (Note: In the most cases you have to remove the battery during the firmware update and while you connect the device to the PC, but if the PC doesn’t recognize the phone also try with the battery inserted. Do not forget to install the drivers first.)
5. Find and open flash_tool.exe application on your PC.
6. On the Download tab find the Scatter-loading .
7. Find a txt file named scatter or similar in your official or custom ROM’s folder. You will find it where you previously extracted.
8. Load the scatter txt file named similar like MT6572_Android_scatter.txt
9. Click on the Download and after that connect the device to the PC using a USB cable and press the Volume DOWN or UP key to recognize your device by the SP tool. If your battery is removable do not insert it in the device during the flashing procedure.
10. Wait unil the flash procedure is over. A green check mark will indicates that everything went good.
